Treasures from the Telfair: Paintings from the Collection of the Telfair Museum of Art

The Telfair will partner with the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and display a selection of fine paintings from our permanent collection in the Art Cetner’s Walter Greer Gallery. The exhibit will include perennial favorites such as George Bellows’ Over to Blackhead, Jermome Myers’ The Callico Sellers, and Eliot Clarks’s Smoke Plumes of Savannah. Also included will be rarely viewed gems like George Elmer Browne’s charming genre scene The Circus.

As part of the Telfair’s cultural exchange partnership with the Art Center, they will offer several programming opportunities exclusively for Telfair members.

Musical Presentation: Elton John’s Aida
May 16, 6:30 pm
Please join us for a private reception and a musical performance showcasing several songs from the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina’s production of Elton John and Time Rice’s Aida. Aida-a grand, epic musical and winner of four Tony Awards, including Best Score- tells the story of two contemporary adults who are transported back in time to the days of Radames. The two find themselves in ancient Egypt witnessing a story of forbidden and unrewuited love.

An Afternoon of Theater and Art
Matinee Performance: Aida

Enjoy a delicious lunch while sipping champagne aboard the Swept Away coach. Upon arrival at the Art Center, you will be treated to a delightful afternoon of theater and art.
Tickets are $125 per person (includes transportaion, a champagne lunch and admission to Aida). Reservations are required and must be made by May 7.
