Telfair Museums New Installment from “Art of Fashion” Series to Feature Designer Emily McCarthy

SAVANNAH, GA – April 4, 2023 – Telfair Musuems’ member-favorite “Art of Fashion” series returns on Thursday, April 20 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. with a fashion show and presentation featuring local designer and shop owner, Emily McCarthy.
The event, taking place at the Jepson Center, located at 207 W York St, Savannah, GA 31401, begins at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception and will be followed at 6 p.m. with a presentation by and conversation with McCarthy, who will share about her professional journey transitioning to fashion design and lifestyle brand expert. Then, at 7 p.m., the night will culminate with the designer’s first fashion show at the Jepson Center.
“We are excited to bring back our member-favorite event with our local designer, Emily McCarthy,” said Telfair Museums Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, Lauren Grant. “We are thrilled to welcome her for her first fashion show, capturing her colorful and fun collection in our beautiful architectural space.”
Fashion show attendees are encouraged to visit the Emily McCarthy Shoppe, located at 2428 Abercorn St., Savannah, GA 31401, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21 as a percentage of the sales will be donated to Telfair Museums.
Emily McCarthy received her BA in Graphic Design and Photography from LaGrange College before turning her eye for prints and patterns into her design business in 2009. In 2016, McCarthy opened the signature bright green doors to a retail location in Savannah. Located near the Starland District, the 100-year-old space is the go-to spot to find housewares, clothing, and so much more, all carefully created and curated to invite joy into your life and make entertaining, gifting, and living your best life effortlessly. McCarthy is dedicated to bringing explosions of delight to closets season after season and believes that when you look good, you feel good — and you do good. Since opening, The Emily McCarthy Shoppe has been voted Best of Savannah Gift Store and Stationery five years in a row by Savannah Magazine readers and has also been named the Best Local Clothing Designer.
