Telfair’s PULSE festival returns in hybrid form for pandemic times with exhibitions at the Jepson Center, virtual lectures by featured artists, a curator’s tour, workshop, and a free admission weekend.

PULSE Free Family Weekend at the Jepson Center

Enjoy a three-day weekend of free admission to the Jepson Center to explore all of the new interactive art for PULSE and other current exhibitions. Hands-on art making kits will be available for families to pick up in the Jepson Center atrium.

This program features talks by two artists currently based in Savannah. Greg Finger is a digital artist specializing in interactive multimedia installations, who has exhibited interactive works and public art installations in China and the United States. Guanzhi Kou is currently studying in the Interactive Design and Game Development program at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Register Now

Join us on February 11 at 6pm to discuss "The Land Was Ours: How Black Beaches Became White Wealth in the Coastal South" (University of North Carolina Press, 2016) with Andrew Kahrl, associate professor of history and African American studies at the University of Virginia.

Shannon Browning-Mullis, Telfair’s former Curator of History and Decorative Arts and currently Executive Director at Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, will present a talk about this new exhibition that looks at the original plans for the Telfair Academy in the context of early museum organization, philosophy, and aesthetics.
