FOT Presents: The Slave Dwelling Project at the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters
November 5, 2022 at 5:30pm Jepson Center- This event has passed.
Thanks to the financial support of the Friends of the Owens-Thomas House, Telfair Museums is teaming up with the nationally acclaimed Slave Dwelling Project this fall. Director and founder of the project, Joseph McGill, has been reframing the narrative of American History through the lens of enslaved people. McGill has slept in more than 100 slave dwellings throughout the United States and offers powerful conversations about the history of the African American experience, the complexities of slavery, and the impact slavery continues to have on our nation today. Join us for a panel discussion led by McGill, in conversation with Dr. Bertice Berry and Patt Gunn, as he reflects on preserving and interpreting the architecture of slavery.
