Friends of African American Arts Visit to Studio of Ken and Theresa Martin

Friends of African American Arts (FAAA) will visit the home and studio of artists Kenneth and Theresa Martin in historic Carver Village. Kenneth has been making oil paintings for over 40 years, beginning his career as a rehabilitative process after a serious auto accident. At a critical point in his life, he discovered the power of creativity. Art allowed him to transcend any pain and regret, and his oil paintings reflect historical portraits of strength and courage. Theresa works in painting, fiber arts, and creates sculptural dolls. Their work has been featured at Telfair’s Juneteenth programs and annual Making Marks exhibitions. Ken and Theresa have also been longtime instructors for veterans’ art classes at the Jepson Center and elsewhere.
