For thousands of years, the ocean has beckoned mankind. Mysteries swirling, beauty inspiring, sounds soothing, salty air healing–the sea serves as muse to authors and artists alike. Essential to life and stirring emotion, the sea calls us to pay homage to her. In much the same way, we are called to gather in celebration and support of our community through our beloved Telfair Museums.

So much of Savannah’s past, present, and future has been shaped by our nearness to the ocean. And Telfair Museums has held an anchoring role in the landscape of our beautiful seaside city–sharing our stories, charming our visitors, and inspiring generations of artful souls. The 42nd Annual Telfair Ball will bring us together in spectacular style at the city’s newest hotel, The Atlantic at JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District, located alongside the treasured Savannah River. As we once again gather under a chandeliered ceiling with friends old and new, museum champions, community members, and corporate sponsors provide the integral wind in the sails of our mission. This now iconic gala is Telfair Museums’ most significant annual fundraiser, and one of Savannah’s most coveted experiences.

Proceeds directly fund educational outreach, exhibitions, and related activities, bringing art, history, and architecture to more than 250,000 people each year.
