Miniature painting of Martha Washington Greene Nightingale (1777-1839) who died in Savannah. She was one of six children, and the eldest daughter of Revolutionary General and Mrs. Nathaniel Greene of Mulberry Grove Plantation, near Savannah. Her portrait depicts her with curly brown hair with a light blue ribbon and wearing a white dress with ruffle along square neckline. The watercolor is on ivory inserted into an oval locket. The reverse with plaited hair surmounted by the initials "MN" in gold.
