In response to health and safety concerns due to the current pandemic, Telfair Museums has developed an alternative method of delivering hands on Summer art activities to youths in neighborhoods across the City of Savannah. In place of a series of three visits by an instructor to each of 13 centers for group art activities, the museum’s educators have developed a series of three hands on art activity kits delivered weekly to an expanded group of sites including 13 centers and 6 parks. Each activity packet is different and based on Telfair Museums exhibitions and collections. The activity kit distribution takes place in tandem with food distribution at each site via Second Harvest’s Kid’s Café program and City of Savannah Recreation and Leisure Services.
