Bird Girl

The original bronze Bird Girl statue by Sylvia Shaw Judson was removed from Bonaventure Cemetery after a photograph of the statue was used as the cover for the bestseller Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The statue was placed in the Telfair's Academy so that the public might still have an opportunity to see it. In 1998 Alice Judson Hayes, the artist's daughter and copyright holder, authorized a Bird Girl statue replica. Though there are many versions of the statue on the market, this is the only authorized copy.
