Tours & Services
3 weeks advanced notice required for all docent-led tours. Teachers admitted
free. One chaperone admitted free per group of ten students. Each
additional chaperone will be charged $8.00, the price of an adult pre-scheduled
tour. The following
docent-guided tours for students are offered year round. Unless
otherwise noted, tour programs are $4.00 per student.

Museum
Magic: Nature in Art (preK-K)
Children will learn about art depicting plants, animals and water
through story telling and gallery activities. For an additional
fee children can paint with water in a hands-on studio activity.
(Tour with studio activity $6 per child)
Introduction
to Art: Color, Texture & Shape (preK-3)
Telfair’s first program for the very young introduces 5-8
year olds to color, texture and shape through texture grab bags,
color gels, and activities related to selected artworks.
Myths
and Monuments (Grades 3-7)
Students will focus on the architecture, sculptures, and decorative elements of the Telfair Academy while learning more about the strong influences of Ancient Greece.
Art
and Life: Five Connections (Grades 4-12)
Connects art to Science/Technology, History, English/Literature,
Math, and Geography.
The Owens-Thomas House Museum
Students learn about the history of Savannah, the Regency architecture
of William Jay, historic preservation, and the only intact urban
slave quarters in the city, which includes crafts from the Acacia
Collection of African Americana. Call 233.9743 to book a

Just
for Girl Scouts: Women in Art (Grades 3-12)
The Telfair is pleased to offer a variety of touring options designed
for the Girl Scouts of America. Telfair’s Women in
Art Tour provides Junior, Cadet and Senior Girl Scouts
the opportunity to work toward their visual arts badge.Tours are
available with and without hands-on studio activities. (Tour with studio activity $6 per scout)

Each year the
Telfair offers guided tours of acclaimed nationally and internationally
touring exhibitions highlighting a diverse range of artistis production.
