Tenenbaum Intern, September 2011 to June 2012
I was born and raised right here in Savannah, Georgia! The Tenenbaum Scholar internship was both introduced and suggested to me by my sculpture teacher-cum-National Art Honor Society head, Ms. Nicole Baker. When I began my internship, I was a senior at Herschel V. Jenkins High School. Starting in the summer of 2012, I will attend the Art Institute of Jacksonville. I am incredibly excited!
I was originally an aspiring cartoonist, but what I have seen during my time at the Jepson has broadened my horizons much, much further. I’ve seen the plethora of incredible things that can be done when you combine art and technology, and I now plan to pursue a career in graphic design. I have always been artsy, but being an intern here, surrounded by all of the artwork within this museum’s doors, has both awed and inspired me to go well beyond pen and paper. To any high school students with creative dreams and a good work ethic, I strongly recommend the Tenenbaum Internship. It will change you!
