|“Art cannot be separated from life…we value art not because of the skilled product, but because of its revelation of a life’s experience.” -Robert Henri
In the creation of his greatest works, Robert Henri benefited from the use of a pocket painting kit and the practice of creating pochades, small studies with a focus on atmosphere and color. In this six-week class, you’ll build mini oil painting kits from cigar boxes and use them to explore techniques of value and color blocking, and to create fast plein air sketches. Experience the beauty of Savannah as Robert Henri would, armed only with a cigar-box ‘easel’ containing everything you need from paints to brushes to canvas.
