The Art of
Helen Hatch Inglesby
Telfair Academy
A lifelong Savannah resident, Helen Hatch Inglesby (1914-1999) was an artist best known for her silhouettes, but she was equally adept in drawing, watercolor, and oils. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, she exhibited with the Savannah Art Association and the Society of Georgia Artists and taught art at Savannah Country Day School. Inglesby was a contemporary of Christopher A.D. Murphy, whose work was a major retrospective exhibition at the Telfair Academy from February 14 through June 1, 2008.
